I’ve been a devoted Casio fan since the early 1990s. In recent years, I gradually shifted from G-Shock models to Pro Trek. As G-Shock cases became increasingly oversized, Pro Trek moved in the opposite direction, offering more compact and wearable designs.
This particular model belongs to the PRW-50/51 series. It features Casio’s Triple Sensor technology, including an altimeter, barometer, and digital compass. It also offers atomic time synchronization, dual time zones, and standard Casio functions such as a stopwatch, countdown timer, and alarm. The watch is solar-powered, which adds to its practicality.
The dial is black with bright white hands and indices, a combination that provides excellent contrast and outstanding legibility. Both the hands and markers are treated with green lume. There’s a small light positioned at 6 o’clock, but it’s fairly dim and only illuminates the digital display.
The case is made out of plastic with a metal bezel and a sapphire crystal, which is a significant upgrade over the standard version. It comes fitted with a polymer bracelet and metal clasp. Since I’m not a bracelet person, I swapped mine for a compatible 23mm rubber strap from another Pro Trek model.
Overall, it’s an excellent watch, durable, feature packed, and well suited for outdoor activities as well as everyday wear. The slight price increase over the standard model is absolutely justified.
